As an introduction, the purpose of archaeology is to learn more about past societies and the development of the human race. Over 99% of the history of humanity has occurred within prehistoric cultures, which did not make use of writing, thereby not leaving written records about themselves that we can study today. Without such written sources, the only way to learn about prehistoric societies is using archaeology.


Archaeological excavation existed even when the field was still the domain of amateurs, and it remains the source of the majority of data recovered in most field projects. It can reveal several types of information usually not accessible to survey, such as stratigraphy, three-dimensional structure, and verifiably primary context.


In England had been different archeologist and they have been a lot of secret about past societies, that make us an idea that how human being have been in evolution through years.


Here we have some important archeologist and their discoveries:


·        In 1638 the English mathematician John Greaves, motivated by the testimonies traveler and connoisseur of the classic story about Egypt, visiting the pyramids and performed the first scientific measurements of it.
